THE RESORT
The long beach front, historic buildings and range of entertainment facilities make Bridlington an ideal destination. Bridlington Old Town is traditional Yorkshire in a nutshell. Packed with attractive antique shops and restaurants, the Old Town was the setting for 2016s Dads Army film. The delightful mix of brick and stone buildings, colourful shop fronts, popular cafés and individual shops provide a relaxing environment for shopping or strolling. The towns new leisure centre opened in 2016 with an array of modern facilities. Entertainments and art galleries are housed in the refurbished Spa Centre on the seafront. A network of land-trains transports guests around the town, along the front, and as far afield as Sewerby Hall and Gardens, a delightful stately home owned and managed by East Riding Council.
ATTRACTIONS
Bridlingtons South beach is long, wide and golden, extending for miles to the mouth of the Humber. There is a flat, wide promenade with many cafés and traditional beachside shops. North Beach is a clean, wide sand and shingle beach with a flat promenade and panoramic views of Flamborough Head, whose cliffs are a unique nesting site for sea birds including the rare gannet.
York is a walled city in northeast England that was founded by the ancient Romans. Its huge 13th-century Gothic cathedral, York Minster, has medieval stained glass and 2 functioning bell towers. The City Walls form a walkway on both sides of the River Ouse. The Monk Bar gate houses an exhibition tracing the life of 15th-century Plantagenet King Richard III
