The Royal Hotel, Weymouth (Recommended ****Gold Stars)

Facing the blue flag sandy beach and the South West Coast Path, this majestic 19th-century Victorian seafront hotel boasts a central seafront position on Weymouth’s Georgian curved bay.

Weymouth is a seaside town in Dorset, southern England. Its sandy beach is dotted with colourful beach huts and backed by Georgian houses. Jurassic Skyline, a revolving viewing tower, and Victorian Nothe Fort offer harbour views.

Blue Flag winning Weymouth Beach is consistently recognised as one of the top fifteen beaches in Europe. If you’re in need of a bit of relaxation just find a quiet spot and sit back to enjoy the warm sand between your toes with the sound of waves lapping in the background – bliss! Weymouth's beautiful historic harbour is a great place to while away the hours and watch all the comings and goings...luxury yachts, fishing trawlers, tall ships, RNLI Lifeboats and even cross-harbour rowing ferries.

Weymouth offers the complete shopping experience with pedestrianised high streets only a few minutes’ walk from an award-winning sandy beach. There are all sorts of shops to be found in the town centre, from traditional seaside rock and fudge shops to beachwear and books! The main Weymouth shopping streets (St. Mary Street, St. Thomas Street and Bond Street) are found in the centre of town near the beachside Esplanade. They are traffic-free and easy to walk around, so are fantastic for a family day out. There are also lots of side streets connecting the beachfront to the marina and harbour, which are great for exploring beyond the town centre.

Day One - Friday 26th March 2027

Let’s head out from our starting points and make our way south to the Jurassic

Coast. We’ll also stop at Services for a comfort break along the way.

Once we’re settled in at the Royal Hotel, if you arrive early, your luggage will be

taken care of and you can either explore the hotel or unwind before your rooms

become available.

Day Two - Saturday 27th March 2027

On a sunny day, let’s head to Portland Bill! We can snap some amazing scenic

photos or even climb the lighthouse for a bit of adventure. After that, we’ll drive

along the coast to West Bay, a charming seaside town that gained fame from the

Broadchurch TV programme.

West Bay, originally known as Bridport Harbour, is a small harbour settlement and

resort on the English Channel coast in Dorset, England, sited at the mouth of the

River Brit approximately 1.5 miles south of Bridport. The area is part of the

Jurassic Coast, a World Heritage Site.

Day Three - Sunday 28th March 2027

Today is a day at leisure in the resort of Weymouth.

Day Four - Monday 29th March 2027

It’s time to pack our bags and head out of Weymouth! We’ll say goodbye to our staff

and new friends before heading home with a comfortable stop along the way.
