Gretna Green Experience

Greatest Love Story and dive into the history of true love & marriage in the UK’s first immersive attraction dedicated to romance

Fully submerge yourself fully in the thrill of the chase as we take you through centuries of love, romance and marriage at Gretna Green, from the 1200s and the age-old tale of that first knock at the door when the Famous Blacksmiths Shop story began in 1754, through the rebellion and scandal of the traditional Gretna Green elopement wedding to the celebration of love over the iconic Blacksmith’s anvil that is typical of marriage ceremonies of the modern day.

Following a breathtaking refurbishment in 2022, what once was the Famous Blacksmiths Shop Museum is now a state-of-the-art immersive, interactive experience. Behold heart-warming tales and see romantic artefacts from days of old, when marriage was nothing more than simply living together, to the times of handfastings and blessings from the heart… all the way to Lord Hardwicke’s marriage act in 1754 which sought to stop lovers in England and Wales from tying the knot without parental consent under the age of 21, and yet led Gretna Green to become what it is today.

Inverness to Kyle of Lochalsh

The Kyle Line is renowned for its spectacular scenery, passing through  mountains, lochs, moorlands, and remote Highland villages. Notable sections include the stretch between  Achnasheen, Strathcarron, and Plockton, where the train runs along coastal inlets and offers views of the  Isle of Skye. For the best views, sit on the  left hand side of the train when traveling west from Inverness.

Cruise of Loch Ness

A relaxing trip for the whole family. All you have to do is enjoy it - it’s impossible not to. Departing from Fort Augustus at the southern end of Loch Ness, you’ll soon be treated to the breath-taking vista of Loch Ness in all its natural wonder. Our custom built vessels are the perfect way to experience the sights, wildlife and history of the famous loch. Sit back with a drink (Not Included), as we cruise past Cherry Island, the loch’s only island and spoil you with a loch-side view of the striking Fort Augustus Abbey.

Loch Ness Centre

This one-hour cinematic and immersive experience takes you on a captivating journey through eight uniquely designed rooms that explore both the myths and true stories surrounding the legendary Loch Ness Monster. Journey back in time with us to discover the origins of this famous loch over a period of half a billion years.

Blending storytelling, atmosphere, and interactive elements, the experience brings centuries of mystery to life.
